Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith. (Habakkuk 2:4)
For years, I have been preoccupied with the question of what faith really is. Does it mean that I only have to believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins to be saved? Does it mean that, since it is not a matter of works, I can sit back for the rest of my life and nothing more needs to be done?
The best way to find answers to these questions is to consult the Bible and see how it deals with the subject, thereby taking a look in the mirror and reflecting on its text.
