Some of our cookies are needed to make the shop work. For statistics and advertising we ask your permission first, and you can change that choice at any time.

Cookies that are always needed

We place these without asking, because the shop does not work without them. They contain no advertising profile.

• Your basket, and the security of our forms. Gone as soon as you close your browser.
• Your language choice, Dutch or English. Kept for 90 days.
• Which entry point you arrived through, so we can attribute an order to the right site. Kept for 90 days.
• Whether you want to stay logged in. Only appears if you log in yourself, and goes as soon as you log out.
• Your cookie choice itself, so we don't ask again every visit. Kept for a year.

Only after your permission

If you say yes, we use Google Analytics to measure which pages and books you look at, what you search for, what goes into your basket and which orders are completed. Google may also place cookies to tailor advertising to your interests, here and on other websites. Those cookies come from Google and last up to two years.

If you say no, none of this is collected and these cookies are not placed. You may still see ads, they'll just be less personal. Google Tag Manager, which we use to arrange this, does load on every page, but places no cookies until you have said yes.

Your email address when you order

We mention this separately, because it goes beyond visitor counts. If you complete an order after saying yes, we send the order number, the amount and the titles ordered to Google, plus a hashed (encrypted) version of your email address. Google uses that code to measure advertising. Your actual email address is not sent and cannot be reversed out of the code, but it is data that lets Google recognise you. Without permission we do not send this.

Third-party services

For the site's security and appearance we load files from other parties. This happens on every page, even if you decline:

• Google reCAPTCHA — protects our forms against abuse. Places its own cookie for this and sees your IP address.
• Google Fonts, Adobe Fonts and BootstrapCDN — typefaces and icons. These parties see your IP address.

Account and orders

Apart from cookies: for an account or order we need your name, address, email address and order details in order to deliver and invoice. That is what we use them for, and we do not sell them. For payment and delivery we involve the payment provider and carrier you choose yourself. See also our terms and conditions.
