Het nieuwe prentenboek van de auteur van 'Het Grote Gevoelenshotel' Lika heeft nooit veel aandacht besteed aan haar schaduw. Soms is hij lang, soms is hij kort. Maar hij is er altijd. Tot de dag dat hij zich vreemd begint te gedragen. Als Lika met haar hand zwaait, steekt Schaduw een voet op. Als Lika gaat zitten, staat Schaduw op. Lika probeert zich te verstoppen, maar hoe kleiner ze zichzelf maakt, hoe groter Schaduw wordt. Dan neemt Schaduw Lika mee naar een vreemd land met een griezelig schaduwcircus. Alleen door naar haar schaduw te luisteren, kan Lika de weg naar huis terugvinden.
