Met een eigen selectie van tachtig gedichten uit haar acht dichtbundels en enkele nieuwe gedichten staat de dichter stil bij het feit dat zij vijftig jaar in Nederland woont, dicht en schrijft in een taal die haar moedertaal niet is. De keus voor hun volgorde is niet chronologisch maar thematisch bepaald. Ze zijn voor deze heruitgave bijna allemaal bijgeschaafd en verschillen in meer of mindere mate van hun eerste versie in druk.
