In dit boek staan historische foto’s van Zandvoort, verkregen via het Noord Hollands Archief, het
Genootschap Oud Zandvoort en Zandvoortvroeger.nl.
Ze waren oorspronkelijk in zwart/wit, waarvan sommigen zelfs in erbarmelijke staat. Met behulp van verschillende computerprogramma’s en handmatig bijkleuren, heeft Dennis Plantenga een poging gedaan ze te restaureren en in te kleuren met tot doel om oud Zandvoort weer tot leven te wekken. Het idee om dit te doen was ontstaan nadat ik van mijn familie oude zwart/wit foto’s kreeg toegestuurd die ik had ingekleurd met een verrassend resultaat tot gevolg.
