De vondst van een stapeltje verloren gewaande gedichten uit zijn studietijd bracht Maarten van Leeuwen na bijna dertig tot de koortsachtig productie van een groot aantal nieuwe gedichten. Het thema is na al die jaren echter ongewijzigd: Weltschmerz.
