Nesrin Almosrani (1974) is geboren in Salamiya (Syrië). Ze groeit op in een vrijzinnig Ismaelitisch milieu. Haar vader is timmerman. Haar broer is kunstenaar. In juni 2015 vlucht ze met haar jongste dochter naar Nederland. Ze vestigt zich in 2016 in Leiden en volgt daar een cursus Nederlands. Een jaar later schrijft ze haar eerste Nederlandse gedicht. Haar poëzie verhaalt over liefde, oorlog en alledag.
