Kootje, een doodgewone Rotterdamse vrouw met een groot verlangen naar liefde, kijkt terug op haar turbulente leven. Een leven dat vooral bestond uit lust en manipulatie. Kootje voelt en weet dat ze ooit eerder heeft geleefd. Ze komt er achter dat haar wieg op Sicilië heeft gestaan.
