In Zachte oren mag Guus een hond. Met zijn moeder gaat hij naar het asiel. Daar zien ze allerlei honden. Grote en kleine. Jonge en oude. Dikke en dunne. Guus vindt één ding belangrijk. Hij wil de hond met de allerzachtste oren! En dat is Pom. Maar Pom is blind. Ze heeft zelfs een hulphond: haar zusje Jet. Pom en Jet horen bij elkaar. Zou Guus dan misschien twee honden mogen?
