Face Recognition

With respect to the impact of Ageing on the Recognition Factor

Description

Nowadays, computers are widely used and have been integrated in almost all industrial, executive and academic sectors. Many sectors like transportation, health care, entertainment and even law enforcement rely on automated identification systems in order to enhance the security. Common methods of authentication like the use of passwords/PINs, ID cards do not provide a satisfactory level of reliability in this age of evolving information. Hackers can easily hack and crack systems with the probability of accessing important, confidential information. Biometrics is considered as an important and reliable authentication tool which can solve the above problems, amongst all, efficiently. The undertaken project points at designing and implementing a prototype face recognition system with respect to ageing. In this project, the ageing impact is taken as the main factor. The system tends to nullify the effect of ageing on the recognition of a person. The underlying technology used is the Eigen-based face recognition method. While designing the system, factors like inexpensiveness, user-friendliness and ease of integration were considered in the development of this software.
