In conjunction with her first solo presentation in Asia -Mumbling Mud (chi K11 art Museum, Shanghai, 2018; chi K11 art space, Guangzhou, 2019) -Katharina Grosse traveled through China to exchange ideas about her work with five internationally renown Chinese artists. She spoke to Cao Fei, CuiJie, Zheng Guogu, Li Ming and Zhang Enli. The engaging conversations form the heart of the publication. The experimental interweaving of exhibition views with works by other artists, travel pictures and earlier works by Grosse creates an almost hallucinatory reading event. Three essays (byVenus Lau and Ulrich Loock) look at Grosses oeuvre in relation to the works of the other artists, answer frequently asked questions about Grosses work in connection with the Spectacle and introduce Grosses key works to the Asian audience
