Walking on Trees:Views from the Back Country is a collective of stories, essays and previously published Articles that detail the author's working journey through the wild lands of the North Cascades of Washington and beyond to Denali, Mt. Rainier and Ireland. The sixteen entries sketch out a seasonal life spent with the Forest Service and the Student Conservation Association practicing a variety of jobs in remote locations, including fire lookout, smoke chaser and wilderness ranger. Travel along as experiences are shared that can be humorous, tragic, ordinary and always life changing.
