September, 1914. 18-year-old Daisy is the star seamstress at a prestigious gown shop in Southampton. Her beloved father, ill with TB, is advised a stay at a private nursing-home. To supplement her family's meagre finances, a suggestion, that she should work evenings as a waitress, at the Solent Club, one of town's upmarket brothels, is tempting.
