About the trace of an alternative path to the self-directed end of life

When the desire for a long life dominates, we do everything we can to prolong life – if possible: without end. But those who do not have that desire (anymore) are forced to behave cunningly and deceitfully. The urge and compulsion exercised by proponents of a long life, ignores the fact that there are many people who no longer experience that desire.
Huib Drion put the self-willed end of life on the agenda in 1991 and CLW was founded to organize the availability of a humane working last wishes agent for and with the members of the cooperative. In this booklet we tried to clarify that the members of CLW are not quirky, but ordinary people with a legitimate desire. The booklet gives 'our' answers to themes such as 'age limit', 'pressure on the elderly', 'slippery slope', 'marginal assessment', 'mentally (in)competency' and 'tiny minorities in burden'.
