Set in medieval Europe, Red Eve follows the pretty Eve Clavering and her lover and cousin, the merchant Hugh de Cressi. When wicked Sir Edmund Acour marries Eve against her wish by giving her a love philtre, Hugh and his fellow Grey Dick Embark on a search to seek a cancellation from Pope Clement.
