This book presents the conceptual design of an FPSO which suits the parameters of a specific oil field. It has been divided into five sections. They are ¿ Vessel selection, Tanker refurbishment and conversion, Topsides selection, Mooring and Hydrostatic and Stability checks. A Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) is proposed as the desired vessel. Internal mooring system is selected to deal with extreme weather. Suitable tanks have been modeled to provide desired storage capacity. Major aspects associated with tank renovation and conversion has been discussed. Simplified calculations for steel renewal and typical total required volume of steel have been presented. In designing topsides three major requirements has been fulfilled. For mooring system design, the applied standard was API-RP-2SK. For Hydrostatic and stability calculation, a model of the proposed FPSO has been developed. Damage statical stability analysis is performed for full flooding damage of six different compartments. Finally Some recommendations are provided at the end of the report regarding further improvement of the proposed Design.
