Categories of Perceptual Learning Style Preference

A study on engineering students at a polytechnic

Description

This book explores the relationships between categories of perceptual learning style preference of engineering students from a polytechnic with their field of study, level of study, type of primary education and location of secondary school. Respondents of the study comprised second and fifth semester engineering students of a polytechnic. Reid's Perceptual Learning Style Preference Questionnaire (PLSPQ) with modifications to the visual aspect was employed to address questions like, 'Is there a significant relationship between categories of perceptual learning style preference and students' field of study?' 'What are the perceptual learning styles that polytechnic engineering students employ in learning English?' Findings from this study have theoretical and practical implications for effective instruction in multicultural classrooms. Classroom practitioners, teacher trainers, teaching assistants including academicians and researchers could elicit insights from this book.
