The presentation is in two parts. The first part includes seven essays on the theology of Paul. The second part comprises five history-of-religion studies concerning the Hellenistic philosophers Dio of Prusa and Plutarch of Chaironeia. Methodically controlled comparisons show similar and different problems of interest on both sides, which deserve attention also in contemporary discussions.
