Miss Hattie, of Greek descent, pushed the proud parents aside to take a penetrating look at her newborn grand-baby already named Patricia Marie Register. She then turned to the parents and proclaimed, "This child is an 'Old Soul,' and you will be called upon to follow her lead." Though bewildered, her parents O.C. and Athena Buster, followed the advice of their elder. It was to lead the family to reject the evil of black and colored segregation in the South for the next 80 years.
