Sparta is a young princess of Laconia who wishes to live a life of her own free will. In discovering that she is being forced to marry a man she has never met before, whom is twice her age, Sparta runs away. She escapes the kingdom and journeys to far-away lands in hopes to live the life of freedom she's always desired. However, her plans go array when she encounters a sailor's doom and is stranded on an island with sirens for years. Sparta considers it a punishment from the gods and all assume her to be dead. Yet, in a twist of fate, her betrothed rediscovers her and a wave of bitter realization overcomes Sparta who is forced to face the consequences of her escape.
