As a young Ukrainian orphan, Mariya was shipped off to work in the seedy side of Paris. Rescued by a Hollywood producer and brought to America, she joined the crew of a film company. Mariya finds an admirer in dashing British action star Tom, who bears his own scars from being a child actor. She dismisses his affections. He aims to set her anxieties at rest.
