Formed September 1939 in the UK. Served in North-western Europe from 14 June 1944 until the end of the war. Fought on the Odon River, at Caen, Mont Pincon, the Nederrijn, the Rhineland, and across the Rhine. Ended the campaign in North-western Europe under command of VIII Corps.
