Themes of migration and the meaning of home are explored in this account of a young boy in a new country befriending a pigeon-keeping old man, as they each pin their hopes on a different pigeon in a race across the continent. Illustrator Laura Carlin is a winner of the V&A Illustration Award, the Quentin Blake Award and the Biennial of Illustration Bratislava.
