The Bookman Song is a true story about two college friends who, in the summer of 1979, were recruited to sell educational books door-to-door in Davenport, Iowa. Determined to succeed, but entirely ill-equipped to do so, these two aspiring salesmen endured homelessness, heartbreak, humiliation, and despair in their pursuit of sales "success."
